Terry Kroetsch
Terry Kroetsch, ARCT, LTCL, LRSM, BMus, MA
is active locally as a piano teacher, accompanist, adjudicator/RCM examiner and workshop clinician. He is also a member of the American College of Music Judges. Terry pursues an interest in new music, world music, dance, and drama and has staged recitals of the music of John Cage at Laurier, York University and University of Waterloo (all places of employment as a theorist, historian and class/solo piano instructor) as part of NUMUS Concerts. As a soloist and founding member of the New Art Quartet, he has commissioned works by Canadians Peter Hatch, Linda Caitlin Smith, William Peltier and John Estacio.
Terry has adjudicated Contemporary Showcase in Toronto, North Bay, Cambridge, Waterloo and St.Catharines. For The Royal Conservatory and Kiwanis, Rotary and other festivals, he travels the entire country as well as the U.S. Terry has taught at Wilfrid Laurier and University of Waterloo [skills, theory and studio] for close to 30 years.
He also teaches piano, pedagogy and theory regularly at the Beckett School in Waterloo. In his spare time (!) he travels around the world and has just returned from North Africa.
