Julia Dixon
Julia holds a BMA (violin performance) from UWO. She is currently a member of the violin section of the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony. Earlier in her career she freelanced with the London and Hamilton orchestras and with the Stratford and Elora Festival orchestras. Julia has appeared as a soloist with the KWS (Beethoven Romance) and the KW Chamber Orchestra (Beethoven Triple Concerto). She performed regularly with the Faure Trio for many years.
Julia is proud of her active violin studio at the Beckett School. Many of her students are involved in the Kitchener Waterloo Youth Orchestra Program, and many have received youth orchestra and Kiwanis Music festival Scholarships and Royal Conservatory and school music awards.
Julia is married to KWS associate principal cellist Chris Sharpe. They have two daughters: Andrea, who studies violin and piano, and Natalie, who studies cello and piano.
