Judith Bean graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (WLU), and a Bachelor of Education (Western), specializing in vocal music. In addition, she holds a Licentiate Piano Diploma from Trinity College, England and Performers Associate Diplomas in Piano and Voice from The Western Conservatory of Music.

She has performed in solo recitals, musical theatre productions, and light comedy plays across Ontario. She is known for her one-woman shows “Broadway Break”, “Smudge's Adventures in Rainbow Land”, and “Rain Or Shine”.  She is currently in her 17th year teaching with the Waterloo Region District School Board, teaching Kindergarten to Grade 6 Elementary Vocal Music.  She held the position of co-director of Inter-Mennonite Children’s Choir for 7 years, was interim director of the St. Mary’s Children’s “Presto” Choir and has been a Piano Teacher at the Beckett School of Music in Kitchener for more than 17 years. For the past 5 summers, she has been part of the Artistic Staff of the Toronto Children’s Chorus.  She is pleased to be the founder and director of Menno Youth Singers, which is currently in their 6th year. 

 

In her spare time, Judith enjoys exploring new computer programmes, knitting, taking pottery courses, and playing with her singing dog “Nicky”.
